Police are investigating a murder in Letcher County after 70 year old Ralph Marcum of Neon was found dead in Pike County early Saturday morning. Police have already charged three people in connection with the crime.

Police found Ralph Marcum's body in Pike County, but they went back to a shed in Jenkins where they suspect he was killed looking for clues and asking neighbors if they saw or heard anything suspicious.

"They had been three different people charged in connection with the crime. More charges are possible pending a Letcher County grand jury," said Tony Watts with the Kentucky State Police.

Police charged 37 year old John William Pigg with murder. 38 year old Lloyd Steven Pigg and 31 year old Christina Collins are charged with complicity to murder. Police say it is unknown if the Pigg's are related. All three are at the Letcher County Jail. no bond has been set.

"I wondered why they were sitting here and they told me they were looking for Ralph," said Norma Caudill.

Police continue to investigate and are talking to anyone who might know something about Friday night.

"There was some policeman here last night and I went out there and asked that one guy if I could call him when Ralph come home," Caudill said.

Caudill says Marcum lived alone and she doesn't know why someone would hurt him.

"He was just a friendly person. That is all I knew about him," Caudill said.

Police say the three arrested could face additional charges.

Police would not comment on Ralph Marcum's injuries. His body was in Frankfort Sunday for an autopsy.

If you have any information about this case, you should call police.

GOD know's more about this than anyone. And justice will be seeked on the one that killed this ANGEL at the age of 70 that's like a second childhood he wouldv'e been as helpless as a baby. I just get so scared this day and the way people are we never know who is going to attack who and when and if it may be us next. That is what drug's and drinking is good for. When you turn to drug's and drinking you are only looking for one exit that has no exit once you get there and it;s a big old place called Hell I think people Don't fear hell and think they are beyond going there when then put drug's and alochol in their bodies. They don't realize they can never get higher than GOD. He is a awesome GOD if the killer wouldv'e known this we would'nt have this problem right now and Ralph would be here and his children and grandchildren and family would'nt be hurting right now. I have been tore down over this eldery man's way of leaving this world.. Let's everyone plz pray for Ralph's family Thank U)

I just pray to God that Ralph did not suffer I pray so hard that God will let the truth br known and all comes out in court. I am old school I wish the law of the land was in cases like this an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. (edited)
