A police chase in eastern Kentucky reaches speeds of more than 100 miles an hour.

Police were able to safely stop the car Monday night in Johnson County.

Paintsville Police Sergeant Jason Arms says he was looking for a reported reckless driver on US-23 when a car sped by in the other lane at 110 miles an hour.

“A very bad situation for anyone around,” Sgt. Jason Arms said.

They soon found out when they say the car got off the highway, blew two tires, and then hit a parked school bus.

They say they found two teenage boys not even old enough to drive in the car.

“I was extremely shocked that it was two juveniles,” Sgt. Arms said.

The surprises kept coming. Chief Holbrook says they found 47-thousand dollars in the car and several loaded guns.

“It was real shocking to discover that,” Chief Bill Holbrook said.

He says all the cash, guns, the car, and even the license plate were all reported stolen in two counties in Ohio.

Police say the two teens tried to runaway, but were arrested without any problems.

Chief Holbrook says the boys have no known connections to Eastern Kentucky, and they aren't sure why they were here.

“I have no idea. I think they had a road map that was marked somewhere in Paducah. apparently, they took the wrong exit and ended up here in Johnson County,” Chief Holbrook said.

Police are just glad the crime spree ended with out injuries.

The teens are being held in the Boyd County Juvenile Detention Center and face multiple charges in both Kentucky and Ohio.

Ohio authorities are asking the teens to be sent back.

A judge is expected to rule whether they will stay in Kentucky.

What is the point of high speed chases? They endanger the lives of other people on the road. Shoot a GPS dart on the car and track it that way. Also, roads can be blocked off ahead of the vehicle.
