Northbound I-75 is back open the 68 mile marker in Rockcastle County after a deadly accident involving a tractor trailer.

Police say the driver of a tractor trailer died in an overnight accident in between Berea and Mount Vernon.

Police say the driver of a tractor trailer traveling north came upon a non-injury accident involving two other cars.

When that driver tried to stop, the driver crashed into a Ford pick-up truck, overturned and slid into a concrete bridge pillar.

The driver of the tractor trailer died from his injuries. He's been identified as 48-year-old Tommy Kelley of London

A passenger and the driver of the pickup went to the hospital.

Police say the tractor trailer was hauling food items.

In addition to closing both north and southbound lanes, police also closed Kentucky 1505 in Rockcastle County, which runs over I-75.

The tractor trailer ran into a pillar of the overpass while crashing and the bridge had to be inspected for safety reasons.
