A Perry County man is fighting for his life and the woman police say shot him is behind bars.

It happened just before noon Monday at Indian Head Hollow in Bulan.

David Stamper says he saw William Hundley minutes before the 40 year old was shot outside this trailer in Bulan. Hundley's brother did not want to go on camera, but he tells WYMT he was driving this truck with Hundley in the passenger side when they first stopped to see Stamper.

"First they stopped over here at the house, said he was going to go over there and borrow a car hauler, then I hear a gun shot and he pulled in, come back out and pulled in over here and told me to call 911 because he got shot in the chest," Stamper said.

Before the shot was fired, Hundley's brother says he waited in the truck while Hundley went to this neighbor's to ask for the car part. He says Hundley had an argument with a woman inside, walked out of the trailer with his hands up and got back in the truck. Hundley's brother says the woman followed him outside with a shotgun, and fired as the men were pulling out of the driveway. That's when Hundley's brother drove him back to Stamper's for help.

"He got out of the vehicle and come in the house, and I got him a towel, wrapped him in a towel," Stamper said. "He was crying, about to pass out."

Police say Hundley was taken to the UK Medical Center where his condition is unknown.

45 year old Vicki Gibson is charged with assault, wanton endangerment, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police have not released a motive.
