An another eastern Kentucky man has died in an ATV accident over the weekend.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:00pm in the Luma Hollow area just off River Road in Rockcastle County.

Upon arrival Trooper Scottie Pennington determined Justin Samples, 20, of London, was operating a 2007 Yamaha Raptor ATV, travelling up a steep embankment, when he struck a cable and was thrown off the ATV. Samples sustained fatal injuries in the incident.

Samples, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Rockcastle County Coroner.

Alcohol involvement is suspected.

The incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.

Here's the thing, yes atv's are dangerous, yes the people on them are dangerous, but it doesn't matter....It was an accident, all of my friends and I will grieve the same way whether Samples did it on purpose or not. We all know he didn't.The thing about alcohol in my opinion it SHOULD NOT have been printed that way. Why give everybody a harder time than we're having right now.

I happen to agree with amy from hammock. this is a family member and it is devastating to us to have lost a member of our family. sometimes accidents are just what they are accidents ! may justin rest in peace.

I'm tired of people saying atvs are so dangerous! Its not the atvs that are dangerous its the operators. Without someone to operate it that atv just sits there and does'nt do anything. People need to learn to ride safely.

But if alcohol was involved then this could be a real learning story any eye opening event that just might work toward saving other children who might not choose correctly without knowledge of this accident or wreck(what ever it turns out to be).

my opinion, nobody should state anything about alcohol unless its a fact, then, they still should'nt. The family is having a hard enough time dealing with this loss, and things like that in their face only makes it worse. Why always make people out to be bad when a tragedy happens? Justin was a good boy, and this happend to be a freak accident. Its very painful for alot of people right now, and i just think other people should have some respect and let them mourn over thier son without you people making him out to be doing something he was not!
