The UNITE Task Force and Laurel County Sheriff's Office were out Thursday on a series of meth lab busts. The task force team discovered several production sites at one home in the Twin Branch community.

It was a busy day for officials as they worked to clean up several meth sites in Laurel County. When authorities raided a home on Dan Bowan Road, they say it was more than evident meth was being produced in large quantities.

"When we arrived, we discovered several items used for the manufacturing of meth in the basement of this home. We found several tanks we believe to be anhydrous ammonias storage tanks. We found several lab sites strolled across the hill in the backyard of the residence," said UNITE Detective Brian Lewis.

After combing through the dozens of lab sites behind the home, the task force found more than 60 hydrogen chloride generators, which officials say are used in the last step of producing meth. A stolen vehicle was also found on the property.

Officials are looking for a suspect, but they are not releasing his name right now.

The man's grandmother was taken from the home and placed in adult protective services.

The shame of all of this is the children that's involved, they are going to be part of the vicious cycle. In 10 years from now they will be the next Meth producers. The people who are manufacturing this now have nothing to lose, they have already destroyed their lives and the people around them. But their kids have everything to lose.

Does anyone care that these type of people are arrested and set free several times and charged with only first offense? This is too common and for a grandparent or child to be exposed to this is inhumane.

They always get out of it! Be interesting to see if charges stick this time around!
