Bridge At Kite Closes For Emergency Repairs Next Week

KNOTT COUNTY – July 24, 2008 – The bridge at the junction of KY 582 and KY 7 (Kite) in Knott County will closed on Monday, July 28, for repairs, according to Sam Hale, Highway District 12 Bridge Engineer.
Hale said the bridge will remain closed until probably about 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, so that emergency repairs to the bridge deck can be made. Portable message boards will warn motorists well before they get to the site so that they can choose an alternate route.

I about got killed on the loose concrete and railing there last week, be very careful there, this bridge was erected in 1932.
