The deputy state fire marshal rules a massive junkyard fire in Pike County accidental.

Employees at K.W. Metals in Belfry tell us the fire started with a single spark that's common in scrap metal operations, but the fire quickly got out of control. Investigators don't plan to file any charges against the company. Now environmental officials are turning their attention to possible contaminants in the ground and in Pond's Creek, just behind the junkyard.

"It's probably going into the soil so we'll monitor that over the next few days and if we see any in the water, we'll place absorbents in the water to collect that," said Doug Tackett with Pike County Emergency Management.

No one was seriously injured in the fire.

AEP officials say power is back on for all those affected.
