Three people are recovering after a vicious dog attack in Jackson County.

Emergency officials say a pit bull turned on its owner on Yellow Dog Road in McKee Thursday night.

The owner was seriously injured and flown to UK Hospital.

Two others went to the hospital in Berea.

The dog warden says the dog has been quarantined.

I have 2 friends there in Kentucky whose dog is technically a pit bull, hes as daft as a brush!Has no-one watched the dog whisperer? Ceser Milan will tell you all breeds have the potential to turn on people, its all in the training & the way they are bought up.Remember a few years ago Rotties had a terrible name,Is everyone wanting these banned as well? You hear of dogs attacking people everyday all around the world, most are not pit bulls

@Jane on Jul 25, 2008 We all read your last comment. Did you miss the fact that the dog was being swung at with a hammer? Just because your "aunt" might have got a bad apple doesnt make you a bonified PHD on the matter. Also maybe your aunt shouldnt have large dogs of that type as I know several people that just dont get the fact that all domestic dogs are genetic direct decendants of wolves. The very type you wouldnt want to go out and pet in the forest today. Make yourself a member of a pack and you better be the leader.

This breed needs to be done away with. They are useless and dangerous. It's not the owners fault 9 out of 10 times. My aunt had a pit bull loved it with all her heart her and my uncle did both. They could not have children and this was there child. This dog was treated better than most people are treated. But like you hear so much in the news the dog turned on my aunt and almost killed her the dog had to be put down. This type of dog can't be trusted at all.. Especially around children.

People raise these dogs to be mean, and bad temperment has been selected by man during the breeding process. It is sad a cruel at the same time. This breed of dog must only be owned by those who have experience and can show the dog love and discipline at the same time. Until only qualified people are allowed to own them, stories like these will pop up in the news constantly and we will have to put untold numbers of these innocent dogs down because they have been ruined by our own hand.
