Many people say it's a rough time for anyone to start a new business, but a couple in Hazard says they have hope for their brand new restaurant in Perry County.

Woody's BBQ opened just a few days ago, and owners say their business is doing well. Owner Mick Taylor and his wife thought downtown Hazard needed an authentic pit barbeque restaurant. They say they were ready to start their business, no matter what the state of the economy.

"Downtown we need a nice sit down restaurant, the BBQ theme I think is needed in the area. So of course it has some bearing on any business in town, but hopefully we can overcome that," says owner Mick Taylor.

Woody's BBQ is open seven days a week on East Main Street in Hazard.
