Staying healthy can be a struggle these days with not much money left over to foot the bill for health screenings.

Saturday, the UK Center for Excellence in Rural Health in Hazard hosted their annual health fair. The day included a number of free services for people of all ages, like cholesterol and vision checks, as well as screening for skin cancer. The program also offered school and sports physicals all free to the community.

Dr. Douthitt says, "The reason why we're all here is to help out the community. So by providing free services on days like today, it helps out people who might not otherwise be able to have these services."

Dr. Douthitt says many of the center's medical services are free everyday for people who have low income and no medical insurance.
