An Eastern Kentucky family filed a lawsuit this week against the federal government and the FAA for ten million dollars after a plane crash killed three family members three years ago.

Herman and Julie Lester and their 17 year old son Max died after their plane crashed near the Pikeville Airport in October 2005. It was raining and foggy the night of the crash. The lawsuit claims the FAA's air traffic controller gave Herman Lester wrong landing directions, and claims the air traffic controller caused the crash.

The lawsuit asks for a jury trial in federal court.

As a piolot myself sounds to me like he should have just chosen a different airport if this particular on was under such weather conditions, ultimately this is the pilots decision.

This loss was horrible for myself as well as so many others. I think of the remaining family often.
