New developments in a deadly hit and run investigation in eastern Kentucky.
Police are searching for the car involved in the accident that killed 37-year-old Mark Little.
It happened on highway 172 in the Flat Gap community of Johnson County.
Police are searching for the car all over Johnson County, checking all tips from the community, and looking at all recently damaged cars at body shops.
So far they haven't found the car they believe hit mark little, but say they won't stop until they find it, and the driver.
State Police say they found 37 year old Mark Little laying in the middle of the road on Highway 172 in Flat Gap.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say damaged car parts surrounded his body, but the car and driver are nowhere to be found.
There are no witnesses, so police hope the car parts are clues to the car involved.
“Maybe the one piece of information it gives us might be the piece of information that leads us to the hit and run vehicle,” Scott Hopkins, Kentucky State Police, said.
Investigators say some people saw Little walking along the road before he died, but they don't know why he was there.
Investigators say Little was wearing dark clothes, but they don't know how he got hit, or why the driver left.
They hope the public can help.
“We still want that new information because the information we have is leads. We'll follow those leads because we want to come to the truth in this situation,” Hopkins said.
Police are checking cars and trucks they find with recent damage, but say time could be running out.
“We want to get to the bottom of this quickly as possible because there is evidence at stake. We want to make sure we obtain this vehicle, locate this vehicle before they can get the body work done to the vehicle,’ Hopkins said.
For Little's family, this is their second loss in a week.
Little's father died last week.
The family was too upset over the situation to talk to us, but hope police catch whoever hit him.
Officials want anyone with information, such as seeing a damaged car, to call and report it, so they can check it out.

I knew Mark..he was a good friend of mine and if you knew him personally then you would know he was the kind of guy who would help you if he could. He didn't deserve to die that way..he had his problems just like everyone does, noone is perfect...but he was a kind soul and a guy who woulod make you laugh if you were sad. He was just the kind of guy who tried his best to make the best out of a situation and try to make everyone smile at least to me he was always that way.. If anyone has any information on the cold hearted person who hit him then drove away and left him to die without the first effort of trying to get the man some help please come forward. Accident or not, if you hit someone like that you should atleast try to get them some help and not just drive away leaving them there to die like a wounded animal, NO person deserves to die alone in the middle of the road like that NOONE! Give Mark a little bit of justice PLEASE...for Mark...
It would be helpful if we knew what kind of damage we were looking for and maybe what color of vehicle!
