A burning ban is in effect for several Eastern Kentucky counties.

All outdoor burning is banned in Floyd, Johnson, Martin, and Pike Counties.

Forestry officials say the bans were issued because of the dry weather and the danger of forest fires.

The fall forest fire season doesn't start until October 1st.
