A Kentucky man fell to his death while skydiving in Cincinnati.

21-year old Thomas Bartlett of Owensboro jumped out of a helicopter around 7:30 Friday night.

Investigators say witnesses tell them Bartlett's parachute didn't open until he was about 40 feet from the ground, but it was too late. Bartlett was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

That would be a horrible way to die. God Bless his soul and I pray for his family and friends.

My guess is back-up shoots are useless when jumping from a helicopter. You don't jump from a height that would make them an option if the main shoot fails.
