An Eastern Kentucky jailer is resigning.

The Bell County judge executive says Bell County Jailer Jimmy Hoskins is retiring for personal reasons. Judge Albey Brock is appointing Deputy Jailer Rex Miller to the post. He has 30 days to name a permanent jailer that will serve out the rest of Jimmy Hoskin's term which lasts until 2010.

Well I don't know the reason for Mr. Hoskins resigning but I personal think he Is was a good jailer and a real good guy I hate to see this happen. I think that Bell Co. has lost a good asset to the political arena

Why do we kneed jailers especially when many of these counties have NO jails? This is big fat salary to some politically tuned individual with no responsibilities. If you don't have prisoners what do you do --sweep the jail?

This is what we need in Pike Co.Only we need about 75% of the judge's and elected officers to go.Any reason will do.

I don't know the reason he is resigning, but he needs to, he was getting rich off the prisoners and their families. I have seen a lot of jails and have never seen anything like Bell County's. I was told by one prisoner that he had to buy his drinking water and he also didn't have lights in the cell where he was at. I heard Bell county could have built a new jail but the officals there didn't want to spend the money. I know prisoners deserve punishment, but come on people they need to have enough food which they were not getting and they should not have to buy drinking water.
