A former Breathitt County referee and bus driver is facing four years behind bars after an internet sex sting.

Paul Terry is scheduled to be sentenced Friday in Rowan County after pleading guilty to amended charges of unlawful transaction with a minor and distributing obscene material to a minor.

An internet crimes task force arrested Terry last year after several online encounters with someone posing as a 13-year-old girl.

Well it looks like Mr. Terry was given a sentence before he ever went before the Judge.I know that Paul is human and we all know we can be whoever we want to be on the internet.I think that its between him and God what happened, its not our place to judge anyone less we be judged. We all have done things in our lives that need not be known to the world. As for "PEOPLE LIKE THIS"- You mean our neighbors-church members-anyone around us can be people like this-people are human and without the LORD in their life it can be distructive-Paul went to jail and he can witness to so many people and i pray that he can help one person to know the Lord then it was worth it.Hang in ther Paul- You may not be pleasing the world right now but you're doing the Lords work and many a time its not easy but the reward is worth it all.

It is people like this that make our schools and community so unsafe. Then, you have the school principals, the state representative and many other citiens who uphol for him. Just look in the Jackson Times Vol.120, No.7 issue.

I think that none of you know Paul as he is today. Whether he is innocent or guilty he has be forgiven in the eyes of the Lord and that is what counts. You people can say what you want to but Paul is a good person and I trust him fully. Paul is converted his life unto the Lord and that is who shall judge him. In the Bible it says "Let He Who is Without Sin Cast the First Stone" so I don't think anyone has the right to do that because we all fall short of the Glory of God. Paul I want you to know that Me and My family stands behind and our thoughts and Prayers are with you. Just remember that God will see you through this because He tells us He will in His word He says "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last." He will take care of you.

Paul has been wrongly accused and did nothing wrong. If everyone would read the facts, and could see past what the media is saying, they would see the situation exactly as I see it. God bless you Paul.

Lets correct the facts here. The so called cop was posing as a 14 year old girl. Secondly, The "several online encounters", came from the cop, not Terry. As a matter of fact, the cop pursued and pursued Terry over a couple week period until Terry, believing this was an adult messing with him showed him his privates. The charges are based solely on "Paul thought".People! wake up! Do you agree that a person should be arrested for a crime based on what an officer of the law says that "you thought"?? Watch carefully as "the thought police" start making more unbelievable arrests! Terry holds to the position that he never thought this was a child - which pursued him in an "adult only" chat room. Why did the law arrest Paul before he attempted to meet with the officer posing as a child? Because he never had any intention of meeting. Terry, like so many others is a scape goat! Stop making stupid laws! Terry was faced with taking a plea or facing bigger charges. He did what he felt he had to.

if the school board would have done what it should have along time ago when mr terry was a driver this probably would not have happened or atleast he probably would not have been around children as a referee

I am so thankful for these internet sex stings, and I think they should take the money they took from everything else in this state and put it toward this-at least it is worthwhile.
