WYMT Mountains News has received information from dispatchers at the Hazard State Police Post that one of their troopers and an ATV have been involved in a collision in the Neon community.

All of the details of the accident are not available at this time.

We do know that the trooper is fine and that the ATV rider is being treated on the scene.

We hope to have more on this story on weekend edition.

This comment is for biker jj and anon. What needs put off the highways is idiots driving cars.Theres more deaths caused by vehicles than Atvs but the whinning and crying starts when a ATV IS involved dont it?So yes ATVS shoulnt be on the highway but fools driving cars and motorcycles shoulnt be allowed to drive the roads. And biker i hope you are smart enough to wear helmet because the biker population is crash and burning more than the Atv rider arent they. How many death on cycles this week more than the atvs for sure

Whoops 4wheeler versus State Trooper? And we 4wheelers wonder why the law so hot on us.Sounds like the ATV was on the road or Mister Trooper was off road one.One things for sure you can bet they a be some good comments on this one.Its things happening like this that make the riders that obey the laws look bad.Bet the Atv gets the blame and not the one riding it though

I THINK THE ATV'S, DIRT BIKES AND RHINO'S NEED PUT OFF THE BLACKTOP FOR GOOD!! HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE TO GET HURT OR KILLED BEFORE A STOP IS PUT TO IT?

ATVs have no business on the highway. The problem with ATVs is they are able to disrespect laws becasue the state police and most other police departments have a no chase policy becasue they are afraid the riders will get killed running away from them.
