A legal fight over courthouse displays of the Ten Commandments could cost two Southern Kentucky counties almost $400,000.

The Lexington Herald Leader reports the ACLU's lawyers filed a motion asking Pulaski and McCreary Counties to pay for the organization's legal expenses. The ACLU won its request to make the injunction against the displays permanent and federal rules say the losers in civil rights cases must pay the winner's legal fees.

What's wrong with the 10 commandments? If you forget just for a minute that they were supposedly written by God, it tells you things like it's wrong to kill, steal and covet things other's have, Honor your father and mother, etc. It's really just moral codes to live by. Moral codes that are sadly missing from many of peoples lives. No one respects each other anymore. The ACLU gets their underwear in a wad over these "rules to live by" and for some reason thinks everyone owes them money for displaying or expressing religion. People, show a little tolerance toward one another. If you don't like seeing the 10 commandments hanging on a wall..don't look at it. We've shown tolerance in having many things taken away from us that we value(thanks ACLU). You don't even have the option of praying in school anymore for fear of upsetting someone else.Let me pray if I want..I don't care if you do. I don't push it on anyone and don't expect you to harass me because of it. We have rights too!

Has anyone ever considered sueing the ACLU for violating our right to view THE 10 COMMANDMENTS in a public place. If the founding fathers had known then what we know now they probably would have told Great Britain to just keep us.

See, it doesn't boil down to differences in religion, it boils down to MONEY, MONEY, MONEY! If the ACLU was as "righteous" as they proclaim to be, fighting for the liberties of the oppressed, then the money wouldn't matter so much...yet again, political correctness at it's best!!

Obama is correct, this is a country of many beliefs and we should respect that considering that was exactly how this country was founded.

It's a free country, keep your religion it your desired church and NOT on my school and courthouse.

The ACLU is absolutely correct here, why would we want all these different religions displaying their stuff on our court house and schools?

I agree with Sarah completely, I really don't want to see and read some Indian 10 commandments on my courthouse or school.

This not about christianity or any other faith this is about pushing your particular faith on someone else, let me ask you this question, how would you feel if the Muslim's and the Arabs placed their scrip of belief right beside the `10 commandments?

as Obama recently said in one of his speechs, " we are no longer just a Christian country, we are now a country of Christians, Muslims, Jews, and Buddhist. I am one not to publicly discuss religion, but this is a shame, and shows us all what is wrong with the country.

Theres no mention of seperation of church and state in our constitution,or the bill of rights?Freedon of releg. was to protect the goverment from the church, not the church from the state.

We as Americans have every right to have the Ten Commandments displayed anywhere we please. Our country was founded on Christianity. Why Congress and the supreme court doesn't have enough back bone to stand up for what is right is beyond me.

Good, I hope they win because if they don't Osama Bin Ladin can put up his stuff if he likes.

The ACLU will stand before God one day and they'll regret their ignorance.

This is an example of what's wrong with this country...evil flourishes while bleeding heart liberals fight to remove the good. Even if you aren't a Christian and even if you don't believe that the Bible is the Word of God, the Ten Commandments are still good moral standards that can only make us better people. What harm can they do? Why is it wrong to tell our children that they should not tell lies, or steal, or murder? And why do we continue to allow outsiders who hate us to dictate what we can or cannot express about our faith and our beliefs? Do you think we would be allowed to go to their home countries and tell them to remove their religious icons or artifacts? HECK NO! They'd have us deported or thrown into prison or executed. Pulaski & McCreary Counties...GOOD FOR YOU! The ACLU needs to find better things to do than to harrass good, God-fearing Kentuckians. May God Bless America! And if anyone is offended by seeing the Ten Commandments posted, they don't have to look at them!
