Police are still looking for leads four months after someone set two Johnson County apartment buildings on fire, leaving nine people homeless.

Now police are asking for your help finding the alleged arsonists.

Officials say there is no doubt someone intentionally set the apartments in Wittensville on fire, but they still don't know who or why.

They believe someone out there has the answers and they hope they'll come forward.

Freda Tharpe has a new place to live and is finally getting back on her feet four months after she lost all she owned when a fire ripped through her apartment.

“It's been hard. I'm in debt over my head right now, trying to buy back what I had to have and everything,” Tharpe said.

She hasn't recovered.

“It hurts. I sit and cry over it all the time. When I'm by myself, I'll start crying, just because I lost stuff you know, I didn't want to lose,” Tharpe said.

Tharpe and her eight neighbors were all home when the fire started Saturday, May 10th and at five in the morning. Police say someone intentionally set the two buildings on fire, but no one knows why.

“We're still looking for any other motives or other reasons for somebody that would want to burn these buildings,” Detective Don Parker, KSP Arson Investigator, said.

Detectives want to find the person responsible.

“There were people asleep in those buildings and the person who set these fires had no regards for that,” Detective Parker said.

Investigators are still looking for clues.

Police say they won't give up until they solve the case.
