Drivers in Knott County should plan ahead for traffic delays on Highway 1231 this week.

On Monday, transportation officials are starting base repair and asphalt patch work on Big Branch-Irishman Creek Road between mile marker four and the intersection with Highway 550.

Officials say the work could cause long delays, but should be finished by the end of the week.
