People in Harlan County raised more than 4,000 dollars to fight Alzheimer’s disease.

Nearly 100 people turned out today for the Teetersville Baptist Church fundraiser at huff park. For many people there, it was an issue that hits close to home. Organizers say it's a deadly disease that progresses in several stages, but if caught early, medicine can slow the symptoms.

Jennifer Farmer, with Teetersville Baptist Church says, “We want to get that awareness out to people because there are so many people affected and you really don't know it's happening until it's up in the later stages of the disease.”
