Federal officials say national forests and parks have become home to some of the most polluted pockets of wilderness because of the illegal marijuana crops grown on the mountainsides.

Officials say that in addition to the federal land here in Kentucky, the grow sites have also taken hold federal lands in Tennessee and West Virginia as well as the west coast's Cascade Mountains.

I think it is a good idea that people are growing pot in this state, it reflects the way the goverment has treated the working families. They have taking away our right to work, and provide for our families. They take our jobs away, and when we do get jobs in this area, the pay can't take care of our bills, let alone our families. The insurance for our cars, heath care, electric bills, school tax, food on the table, our goods that we need like clothes, maybe your kids need glasses or dentiel work, gas for heating or driving, upkeep on the cars that we drive, tags, taxes for driving them, our way of life is disappearing like our jobs,it's miserable to try to live in this country, when you don't have much. And with some with little or no education, our stinking no good goverment that we pay all these taxes to can't provide job training,or other means of education to the poor,YES! i said poor,in this sorry no good goverment runed country.I can't blame them for growing pot, because of our life in U.S.A.

I don't understand why growing marijuana would contribute to pollution. Marijuana, like any other plant, thrives in good clean soil with no pollutants.

what a croc.It is now under stood that Kentucky Law enforcement is one of the greatest propaganda machines there is.Just tell any lie, they will beleave it. Seems to be thier Motto The only pollution is the engines of the Choppers and ATVs of the Police. They seem to think everyone is dumb as a coal bucket.
