A civil suit is filed against four people accused of abusing a woman and holding her captive for four months last year.

The Hazard Herald reports the victim, Donna Hicks, is seeking damages against charlotte and Billy Crawford, Penny Ford and Billy Williams along with the Cabinet For Health & Family Services and the Hazard Police Department.

The suit claims social workers and police knew about the alleged abuse and did nothing about it.

A trial date in the criminal case against the four suspects is set for next month.

this was a sad story. and yes i'm sure social services did know, but that's how they work when they need to step in they won't. i hope this woman fully recovers and goes on with her life and the people that did this to her get what they deserve.
