A Sheriff's Deputy says 32 year-old Steven Crum of Williamsport confessed to firing the 12-gauge shotgun that killed 42-year old Harrison Butcher of West Virginia on Sunday.

Now Crum is behind bars charged with murder and possessing a firearm by a convicted felon.

The arrest came after Deputies say something did not seem right about Butcher's autopsy results.

So Deputies along with State Police and Fish and Wildlife Officials went back at the scene to look for more evidence.

"The initial scene appeared to be a hunting accident. Due to new evidence it has come to light now it is a suspect homicide" said Johnson County Sheriff Bill Witten.

Chief Witten would not say exactly what evidence was found at the scene that may have led them to Crum.

Crum told Police the shooting was an accident and Sheriff Witten says he does not know of any connection between the two men.

Crum is being held in the Big Sandy Detention Center without bond.
