Some eastern Kentuckians will be spending the holidays overseas.

Soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan are far from home.

A Harlan County woman is trying to do what she can to bring Christmas to them.

Della Pace's brother served in Vietnam.

“What that would mean to him, that someone would take time to do something just for him,” Pace said.

Her brother died in combat.

To this day, Pace has not forgotten what it is like to have loved ones far away.

So when she heard about a program that sends music Cds to troops, she was ready to help.

“These troops, when you think, they're so far from home, what they've done for us,” Pace said.

Through myspace.com, Pace got in touch with the man who sings Christmas heart.

Dan Wallace's song is one of 21 on a CD for troops spending the holidays abroad.

“We reflected what Christmas really means. It's a piece of our hearts. I want a piece of my heart to go to them, so that I can touch them,” Wallace said.

Della Pace is now pushing others to send blank Cds or money to the program, so that more soldiers will get the music.

Her church has already donated more than 500 blank discs.

“Just a little way of saying Merry Christmas and we appreciate what you do for us,” Pace said.

Those wishing to assist with the project may send donations or a package of blank CD-Rs. All donations or CDs should be sent to Gilbert Leclerc at 192 Rands Rd. in Ajax, Ontario, Canada, L1S3Y5.
