LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The University of Kentucky says forward
Ramon Harris has been released from the hospital after colliding
with a teammate during the first half of Kentucky's victory over
Lamar on Wednesday night.

Harris, a junior, was released Thursday after spending a night in the hospital for observation. Team spokesman John Hayden says he received a blow to the back of the head and is listed as day-to-day, but that all tests were normal.

Harris was preparing to run up the floor when he ran into guard Michael Porter. The two appeared to hit heads and both fell to the floor.

Hayden says Porter received 10 stitches to a laceration over his
left eye.

Harris was averaging 9.3 points and 3.2 rebounds this season for the Wildcats.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the UK doctor's check our Harris and Porter? Wasn't Harris' legs and arms tingly as if there was a spinal or neck injury?,,ten stitches are rather bad but potential paralysis is much worse.

Ky Girl I have played several sports(football,rugby and hurling) and have been injured many times and have been in head on collisions.i don't have to type in all caps to make my point and stated my point and have not made personal attacks on those people have attacked me.As for a personal attack ---Ramon is in the public venue and not a regular citizen as he is a representative of UK basketball.What is this thing,about feminine hygiene products.Are you and friends stuck on same idea and that is your only method of attacking me.You and the people responding out of frustration of Kentucky basketball falling into the depths of has beens and heading for the dumps that UK football is in.3 bowls in a row,but what type bowls are they(3 tier at best).Uk sports glory days are over and you are striking out at people who tell you it is over.Don't worry I will not respond and make you spit and sputter.Merry Xmas to all even though chose to attack from your computer and can't put a thought together

Hey Joe W., how classless can one person be? Harris was screaming and crying in pain on the floor. Also, you don't get admitted overnight at the hospital if you are being a "sisssy" as you so eloquently put it. You're such a loser for being a keyboard toughguy. Get a life.

I partly agree with Joe W and can't believe that Eddie and Anonymous use this forum to make a personal attack on Joe. He said what he thought and they go off the deep end.If they had any manners they would state their objections to Joe's post.

It is amazing to me the inconsistency of posts that are allowed by WYMT, especially one like the one posted by Joe W. I can only say that I hope when you have a son or daughter, they don't have something like this happen to them. Hitting the floor of a basketball court HURTS. I applaud the medical staff at UK for ensuring that they took all precautions to make sure Ramon wasn't more seriously hurt by having him checked out, etc. I second Anonymous's comment to you, and recommend the Maxipads with the wings for you, you need them.

I have never seen a better act than Ramon's flop to the floor he barely hit his head and fell down like he was hit by a 2x4.Porter was the one who took the real blow and he didn't fall down like a Big Sissy and cry for mommy!Luckily mommy was there to comfort her Big Baby.Porter was hurt and got sewed up and returned to the bench. Harris was wheeled off on a gurney,but it should have been a baby carriage!I have bigger hits in a girls field hockey game.
