A man police say is leading supplier of drugs in Pike County is in jail.

Police say 59-year-old Roy Robinette eluded them for months, but Friday afternoon they tracked him down.

Investigators say they traced dozens of drug overdoses, DUI crashes, and thefts all back to Robinette.
Sheriffs deputies say he was selling cocaine and pills to many people, but they believe his biggest customers were teenagers and young adults.

They also believe he was a major supplier for other dealers in eastern Kentucky.

Deputies say he always sold from his car or outside of businesses in the Phelps community making it easier for him to elude police.

Friday afternoon undercover officers made a buy from Robinette and deputies were waiting to arrest him.

Deputies think the arrest will reduce thefts in the area because they believe people were stealing and trading the stolen goods for drugs.

Robinette is in the Pike County Detention Center facing drug charges, but more charges may be added.

If you were not a friend of the family or knew this person, I bet you would think they were guilty as well. Quit sticking up for scum!

You people crack me up.

Posted by: Anonymous on Dec 22, 2008 at 02:22 PM

Their is still some suppliers and sellers here in Martin in floyd county! Come get them too!

Posted by: mj on Dec 22, 2008 at 11:37 AM
it sounds like he desirves the time he gets, but it also seems like the sheriff is trying to make you believe that all the problems are fixed by getting one man off the streets. his customers will migrate to a new dealer,, the real junkies will always find it somewhere.. education and family support is the only way to overcome this battle...

What this man did was wrong and he is spending his time for it. I am ashamed of the ones of u that are so called christians that are on here judging him and talking about him when u should know if u read your bible that u are suppose to be praying for him and letting God be his judge. That's what is wrong with our nation today to many against each other instead of helping each other overcome their problem and not praying for each other.

It's his fault that his name is ruined. Like someone said your accountable for your actions. His wife knew that this was going to happen. And I know this family well, I'm not a drug head, or seller or buyer. I'm just a concerned citizen in the Phelps area. That is tickled to death that they finally busted him! And I've checked he is not out, and I can assure you that fuzzy isn't missing his dirty money, don't go slandering the HIGH SHERIFF's name, Fuzzy is like family to my family and I can assure you that if he was to see this, he would talk to his LAWYER about you slandering his name!

There may be more to the story than what has been told so far. Just because it was reported by the media doesn't mean it is correct or complete. Instead of dragging this man and his family in the mud, maybe we should pray that God will touch their lives and give them strength to make it through whatever happens. We should be patient and see what the truth is and just maybe there will be JUSTICE for all concerned when all the details are set straight. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this and hope they won't be judged by pieces of information not known to be the whole truth. May God be with us all!

The news said he eluded them for months,i don't think so, it was for years! I don't condone what he was doing, but theres a lot more & like the others said the law, deputies, knows who they are. What needs to be done for Pike County is: Check the Dr.'s, Lawyers, and {YES} Judges. and Sheriff. Roy must have not been paying his dues.God knows he didn't care who he sold to or where he sold at. Everyone in Phelps knew he sold, including the Laws. It's ashame that this is what people's ssi check goes for. YOU HEAR ME PIKEVILLE! The officials in Pikeville needs to be drug tested. we need someone to just sit in the court rooms over pikeville and just watch and listin what goes on. DO YOU HEAR ME FRANKFORT!!!!!!!

how can one man be blamed for dui's overdose and theft. people make their own choices. i think they came down on him to get the heat off someone else. i think alot of the dr's are to blame. i know people that gets stuff and there's nothing wrong with them. i also know people that are going to other states and then coming back and selling it.

I got hooked on pain pills befor and i know how they can do you they take over and that is all you work for i had a good job /nice house/new car and i lost it all to drugs it has been 5 years now sence i have took a pain pill and people if you care about one a nother if you know someone on drugs dont talked about them do what you can to help them get off of drugs cause they want stop till they are dead so you have to show them that there is more to life then drugs that is what got me off drugs and i was real bad on them i was spending 3000 to 4000 a month and that is no bull i was one of the lucky ones but they have been so many that was not. all of you could do more than any cop could you can show them that you care and want to help them and show them you will that will clean up your place better then any thing dont get me wrong the cops is doing what they can but just because you know someone is seling drugs the cops has to prove it in court that is why it take them a long time

Great job I wish they would clean up where I live. I have drug dealers all around me and the police know it.

They think they got the big supplier of Phelps but they really need to go look for the BIG MEN on Phelps that supply the little men. The little men are more than likely just trying to supply their own habit. I think that they need to help these people instead of railroading them and their families.

you all act like you know it all but you are not just killing his name it is the whole family and i will be talking to my lawyer about putting his name on the news without his permission and ruining not just him but the whole family to: WYMT News

You must be on drugs too or are you just naturally stupid? You can't spell so I'm wondering which one it is.

Posted by: anti drugger Location: pikeville on Dec 20, 2008 at 10:21 PM
Snap out of it Bill... If he was arrested, hopefully there will be justice. By the way, I am getting the impression that you could be a customer, supplier, or relative.

This is just so sad!!! This was once a very well liked and respected man in his community... Just a prime example of what drugs---The work of the Devil------- can do to a family!!! Hope the judicial system will make an example here, give this person the punishment that he so rightly deserves;;whatever the maximum is he needs to be shown that there are some of us out there that DO NOT CONDONE this kind of behavior, and we pray for his family and what this has done to them!!!

Posted by: concerned citizen on Dec 20, 2008 at 08:01 PM
double kwik will be lonely now that roy isnt in the back part selling his drugs..great job officers keep it up...go to smith fork now and get the other big drug deller. or dellers that is....

Posted by: Larry on Dec 20, 2008 at 07:45 PM
give him time, put him in prison, make him someone's sissy

Posted by: Amanda Location: Stopover on Dec 20, 2008 at 07:12 PM
WOW the Pike County Sheriff has freed Phelps of drugs, theives, overdoses, and DUI crashes. I can't believe ONE man is responible for ALL that!!! WOW Great job sheriff. Job well done *cough*! I guess you can send your deputies into other parts of the county, now that you have cleaned up Phelps.

Posted by: Anonymous on Dec 20, 2008 at 06:38 PM
he should be held accountable. everyone makes their own decisions, if they don't buy from him they will find someone else. they choose to steal. they should be held accountable. i hope he gets time out of this.

Posted by: anonymous Location: pike county on Dec 20, 2008 at 05:25 PM
We all know he'll be out monday, if not before, because as long as he is in jail,Fuzzy will be missing out on his cut of the money. We may be poor in pike county, but we're not stupid. We know whats going on.

Posted by: Anonymous Location: Phelps on Dec 20, 2008 at 01:28 PM
What happend to his so called Body Guard that also got arrested w/him. There were nothing to be found about his arrest. (edited) This guys' dad died from an overdose you would think that it would teach him a lesson, but I guess it didn't.

Posted by: Anonymous Location: Phelps on Dec 20, 2008 at 01:23 PM
They not only need to arrest him, but they need to go to Double Kwik and arrest the employees that knew he was selling out of their store. You were told not to go in the back when he was there because he was selling his drugs. This is crazy. Also they need to go up Smith Fork and get those DRUG DEALERS as well. Hopefully this will clean up the Phelps community. Myself has called UNITE several times about all of this drug business but nothing has been done about it. That's ashame. I'm just happy that they got this ol' pervert off the streets. Now when I go into Double Kwik or Jo-mart I won't be scared because he won't be in there. Hopefully they'll send him on down state w/BIG ROY AND LIL'ROY! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in Jail Roy! Wow I just noticed that all 3 of Phelps' MAJOR DRUG DEALERS are all named ROY! People stop naming your child Roy cause he may be a drug dealer..

Posted by: Lisa Location: Prestonsburg on Dec 20, 2008 at 12:59 PM
I agree with Bill on this point. And honestly, how do they know the drugs this man was selling is responsible for drug overdoses, crashes, etc? You have to take responsibility for your actions.

Posted by: mom Location: harlan on Dec 20, 2008 at 10:38 AM
I am for sure not condoning what he did. I 've seen drugs destroy so many ppl. But the root of the problem is not the dealers. Its the doctors!

Posted by: Bill on Dec 20, 2008 at 08:16 AM
So you think this ol boy is at fault for what others do.Guilty or not of selling dope he is not at fault, for the crimes others comite.Thats like saying a fast food place is responseable, for some one being fat.

Posted by: Resident Location: Pike Co. on Dec 19, 2008 at 11:12 PM
Can we get an update on Monday, he will be out just as soon as a judge has court. His business will be better than ever due to the free advertising. If he stays in jail after Monday it will be amazing....this is Pike Co.

Posted by: Billie Location: Pikeville on Dec 19, 2008 at 09:50 PM
It's about time he was stopped.

Posted by: anti drugger Location: pike co on Dec 19, 2008 at 09:49 PM
Well done! Hopefully this will be a turning point. Either the price will go up so they cannot afford or there will be no supply.

Posted by: Renea Location: Phelps on Dec 19, 2008 at 07:06 PM
I hope they catch more. This is great. Something needs to be done, our small community has went to the dogs because of all the drug dealers and drug addicts. You can't go 1/2 mile without passing a drug dealer's house and EVERYONE knows it, even the police, but they won't do anything about it.
