Not every drug court student makes it to graduation.
"I saw some people die unfortunately in the drug court. I saw my friends die. I just think it does not have to come to that" Drug Court Graduate Tim Maynard said.
Maynard is one of ten former drug addicts who got clean and is now a Martin County Drug Court graduate. His family and others came to the ceremony in Paintsville to show their support.
"It is not over until it is over. You have got so much you can do with your life and you realize that once you get your head clear" says Maynard.
Group organizers say they wanted to have the ceremony on New Years Eve to remind the students how much fun you can have without drugs or liquor.
"being an addict you have to change your people, your place and the things, you can't run with the same crowd" says 39 year-old Sherry Dixon.
After the ceremony, the graduates and supporters will start their New Years Eve party, drug free.
