A trial is underway for a former Pike County teacher charged with official misconduct with a teenage student.

Former East Ridge High School English teacher Lincoln Bentley is accused of asking a student to show him her breasts in exchange for a better grade.

Opening statements and testimony for the prosecution began Monday afternoon.

The defense decided not to make their opening statements on Monday and will wait until they present their case.

The trial continues Tuesday.

I think that no matter if its man or women, they should be tried no different than the man.Either way they should be punishied if they are guilty,,but everybody is innocent until proven guilty. I think that it is getting awful in the world especially when it becomes something like this.Nobody wants to listen to the children, they think kids make stuff like this up.But they need to listen and do something about this because i have seen and heard alot of about this.Teachers are somebody you are supposed to look up to and im not talking about every teacher just about the ones that are guilty of preying on children.

This is ashame how student,s are getting treated by thier teachers that they are suppose to trust. But anymore you here alot about this.I feel sorry for the student, becuase they usally get the bad deal when it comes to something like this.My sister was done the same way in Letcher county and gues what happen he got out of it and he knows that he was guilty. She wasnt the only person .He derserved to be punished for what he did!!!!!!!!! But he didn,t and thats really sad because the court system lets them out and the victims have to suffer for it,it,s like they are the ones guilty.... whats happen to the laws ?
