The smell of petroleum is keeping many in Letcher County from using their water.

The smell of petroleum is keeping many in Letcher County from using their water.
County officials issued a non-consumption advisory for customers in Black Bottom, Crafts Colley, Cowan, Camp Branch, Doty Creek, Isom, Jeremiah, Little Colley, Mayking, Sandlick, Spring Branch, and Whitesburg.
As a precaution, those folks can not drink, shower or use the water for cooking.
The division of water is awaiting test results.
The county will be passing out free drinking water at the following locations:
Colson Senior Citizen Center
Cowan Recycling Center
Letcher Fire Department
County Garage At Mayking

Please,please for our children's sake-- someone do something about this!---This is so sickening--the greed & how it is covered up, if you have $, you can get away with anything in Letcher Co., our local paper, police dept.,health dept., school system, and town hall are all-- aware of who is responsible------------disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!! You all will have to answer to the BIG GUY someday, so I hope you truly enjoy your riches,(but you won't be able to take them with you when you go!)No, I hope you do what is RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!

Last time they knocked a few % off the monthly bill. I don't think anyone affected should have to pay a water bill until this serious problem is fixed. Shouldn't the public have access to the test results...Why all the secrets? Either HE did something wrong or not!!!!!!!!

OK.. HERE WE GO AGAIN..WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO ABOUT THE WATER PROBLEM THIS TIME? GIVE HIM A PAT ON THE BACK FOR WHO KNOWS HOW MANY TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED AND TELL HIM NOT TO DO IT AGAIN? WE ALL KNOW WHO'S RESPONSIBLE THIS, SO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!WE ALL NEED TO GO TO HIS MAIN OFFICE IN WHITESBURG AND RAISE A LITTLE **** WITH HIM AND THE OFFICIALS AND MAYBE GET THIS PROBLEM TAKEN CARE OF..WYMT NEEDS TO GO AND INTERVIEW THIS MAN TO SEE WHAT HE IS GOING TO DO ABOUT THE PROBLEM...OR BETTER YET, LET HIM PAY ALL OF THE CUSTOMERS WATER BILLS!!!HE CAN AFFORD IT!!!!!OR BETTER YET!!!MOVE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE WHERE ITS NOT CLOSE TO THE RIVER!!!!!WE ALL KNOW YOU HAVE PLACES ELSEWHERE!!!!
