Forest fires continue to burn thousands of acres across our region, and foresters say at least a dozen appear to be arson.

Rangers say up to 15 fires were deliberately set in the Big Sandy Region since Friday, including three big ones in Pike County, an 1,100 acre fire in Robinson Creek, a 400 acre fire in Coon Creek, and a 250 acre fire in Dorton.

"They're set more than once and often times in more than one particular spot which causes us to devote a lot of resources in order to contain it," said District Ranger Adam McGuire.

If you have any information about who set the fires, you can call the arson hotline at 1-800-27-ARSON.
