An alleged drug supplier in Lee County is now out of commission and behind bars.

Police raided a home yesterday on Laurel Fork Road in the Primrose community, and arrested two people.

Police say William Brandenberg, Jr. was dealing prescription pills in that community for several years. Brandenburg claims he was doing nothing wrong.

More than $11,000 in cash, six guns, and more than 700 pills are now evidence in the case against 39-year-old William Brandenburg, Jr. Operation UNITE, along with state and Beattyville Police say this bust was a long time coming.

"It was two month investigation. We considered Mr. Brandenberg a mid-level dealer. We recovered a lot of pills and a lot of money," said Dan Smoot with Operation UNITE.

Officers say most of the pills found were Percocet and Methadone. Brandenburg and his girlfriend, 18-year-old Christin Reece, both face charges.

Brandenburg claims he saved the cash over the last two years and was getting ready to use it to move to florida.

"I don't know. Like I said, I come and go, but I don't deal no drugs. I don't think. I don't remember," said Brandenburg during a jailhouse interview with Mountain News.

Brandenburg claims the guns found in his home belong to his brother and a friend.

"I won't shoot no gun. I'm scared of them, but they was there guns because they was over there shooting," said Brandenburg.

Police say Reece tried to run out of the home with four guns and kicked the window of a police cruiser once they got her into custody. She declined our request for an interview.

Brandenburg is charged with trafficking a controlled substance and one count of possessing a handgun by a convicted felon.

Reece is charged with tampering with evidence. Both are at Three Forks Regional Jail.
