Police are looking for suspects after witnesses say a man robbed a grocery store at gunpoint with children inside!

It happened over the weekend in Floyd County, at the Boyd's Grocery Store in Banner.

Witnesses say five people were inside the store when a man in a mask came in with a gun and demanded money.

One of those inside was a ten year old boy and witnesses say the robber went right up to him.

Crissy Howell says she wanted to treat her ten year old nephew to a milk shake Saturday, but says the trip to Boyd's Grocery turned into no treat.

They were two of five people held at gunpoint during a robbery.

Howell says she and her nephew were at the counter when a man wearing a mask came in, pulled a gun, and stood next to them in front of the cashier.

“He pointed his gun at her and then looked at my nephew and said, "Sorry little man that you have to see this." He was so polite. We thought it was a joke,” Howell said.

She says they realized it was no joke.

Store Owner Cindy Boyd says her cashier gave the man more than one thousand dollars and then the robber ran from the store.

“We didn't deserve it because we're good to everybody who comes in here and everything,” Cindy Boyd said.

While police search for the robber, Boyd is making sure it does not happen again.

She moved the cash register away from the door, and added mirrors and surveillance cameras.

Howell says she is okay but believes her nephew is not.

“I don't think he'll ever forget that. He won't even come back to the store with me,” Howell said.

Now they hope police catch the person who took both their money and sense of security.

The suspect is described as five foot ten inches, 170 pounds.

He was wearing a blue and white jersey, a black mask and latex gloves.

Here is another robbery that is happening in Madison County: This past week about 39 homeowners in my rural area of Madison County were notified that we have 90 days to connect to a sewer line that was installed in our area. We have been told that this connection will costs us anywhere from $5000.00 to $7000.00. This is totally outrageous economically and ethically. The Sanitation District has informed us this is mandatory and they will have to shut our water off and fine us $10 daily until we comply with this law. My suggestion is that this be a voluntary action by homeowners to connect with this un-needed system. All homes with a workable septic system should be allowed to continue using these systems as long as they own their homes. I refuse to be intimated and coerced forcefully to go into debt by local, state and federal government that thinks they know better what is good for me than I know.
