An ATV Training Center is officially on it's way to eastern Kentucky.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the facility, which will be the fifth of its kind in the nation, was held in Knott County Monday afternoon.

Officials say the training center could bring up to thirty jobs to Knott County.

Behind the new building, the ceremony and ATV safety training is a family dream of more than fifty years.

It's a story that started behind the walls of a century-old house.

Tom Sutton taught school across the road from his home where he raised twelve children.

Jewell Sutton says her father raised a loving family here, but dreamed of buying a certain piece of property.

A beautiful spot with a never-ending view of trees right here in Knott County.

In 1943 Jewell's father, Tom Sutton bought the land, he paid eight-hundred-dollars for six-hundred acres.

Jewell says her father didn't know what he was going to do with the land. He just wanted it and he thought one day it would be worth something.

When he passed away, in 1989, the land was empty and it was given to his children.

Now the county is taking part of the Sutton's land.

Last year, the six living Sutton sister's decided to donate ten of the six-hundred acres for an ATV safety training center.

Now the Sutton sisters say they hope they can teach others to value their life and appreciate this beautiful land.

There's five-hundred-ninety acres remaining on the mountain and the Sutton sisters say they're thinking about developing the rest of the area. Building cabins and just creating an adventure and family-friendly area.
