For those who lost everything in the floods, one church community in Pike County is trying to help.

For those who lost all their possessions, this clothing drive is a saving grace.

"It's miserable when you lose everything," said flood victim, Cindy Justice.

Justice says she barely escaped her van that got stuck in the flood waters, coming away with just the clothes on her back. She says thanks to the generosity of others, she has hope.

"Strangers that don't even know you that come and offer help and it really means a lot," she said.

"A lot of people in the community have reached out so far and we felt like as the Lord's people that we should do that. It's more than just praying for people," said Shane Lockard, minister at Church of Christ.

Congregation members at the Church of Christ in Zebulon are collecting and sorting clothes for those in the community. Members like Neva Jo Kennedy, also a flood victim, says she is more than happy to volunteer her time.

"I just think that's God's will to help other people, right now they need it more than I do, even though I've got a lot of work that I need to be doing at home," she said.

"It means a lot. It means a whole lot. We need more people out there like that," said Sherry May.

"It's going to be ok. Pray about it, stick together and work together," said Kennedy.

Church members say they plan on holding the drive again Thursday from nine to five.

Wish we would have known we would have loved to help. This is wonderful. This is what a Church should do is help in time of need. We enjoyed attending Church at Zebulon on Sunday. Keep up the good work. God Bless
