More than one hundred golfers hit the links in the annual WYMT Golf Classic.

The event raises money for the Tony Turner Scholarship Fund.

The tournament is held at the Stonecrest Golf Course in Floyd County.

Some early morning rain and even some fog slowed the start but it has not stopped the fun!

Golfers say they're enjoying this no matter how good or bad their golf game is going.

Nearly 140 golfers from all over eastern Kentucky are participating and no one is forgetting the reason why we are here.

This tournament raises money for college scholarships in memory of former WYMT News Director and anchor Tony Turner.

So far we’ve raised nearly seven thousand dollars, that will be going to three students.

They are Kelly Allen of Knox Central, Rebecca Ratliff of Betsy Layne, and Drew Walters of June Buchanan.

Golfers say they're glad to help students go to college because they believe that in turn helps all of our eastern Kentucky communities.

Right now golfers are still playing, but for those who may not come out on top, there are plenty of door prizes here.

Everyone agrees the real winners are the students getting scholarships.
