CATLETTSBURG, Ky. (AP) - A judge in eastern Kentucky has dismissed all but two claims in a lawsuit by four former police officers in a sex scandal.
Special Judge Lewis D. Nicholls handed down a ruling in Catlettsburg on Wednesday, dismissing claims against the city of Ashland, its police department and current and former city officials.
The Independent in Ashland reported the court let stand two claims in the civil lawsuit. They are slander claims against Ashland Police Department Lt. David Slone and Jessica Thomas. It was claims by Thomas that she had sex with on-duty officers that led to the lawsuit plaintiffs either being fired or resigning in 2005.
The suit was filed by David Bocook, Rodney Bowling, Jeff Christian and Jason Deerfield.
In his 12-page ruling, Nicholls wrote the remaining issues should be decided by a jury.
