Lynch city officials are trying to stop a new mining operation they say could threaten their drinking water.
A conference is scheduled for Thursday night in Cumberland to give people a chance to find out more about the proposal, which city officials say is by the Harlan Development Corporation out of Beckley, West Virginia.
People who want to voice concerns about the plan must be at the Godbey Appalachian Center on the campus of the Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College in Cumberland by 6 tomorrow night.
The conference starts at 6:30.

I agree with the Mousie Resident,"its over forever" and how sad is that? The coal operators could care less as they carry that bag of $$ to their out of town mansion.
