Police are investigating more than 35 thousand dollars missing from one city's bank accounts.

The Evarts' city auditor says the money received by the city during the 2007-2008 fiscal year never made it into the city's water, sewer and sanitation accounts.

Evarts mayor Burl Fee says a former city clerk resigned last fall after he first discovered missing money.

Police are expected to wrap up their investigation into the matter as early as next week.
