Victims from the Mother's Day weekend flooding who still need one on one help from FEMA may want to do that this week.

FEMA officials say the number of people coming to the disaster recovery centers is dwindling so they are planning to close several this week.

Some of the FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers are shutting down after Saturday, but while some are closing, the Small Business Administration is opening new help centers next week in the same places.

Ramona Stacy says her house suffered flood damage outside during the Mother's Day Flooding, “It got my building, my freezer, real nasty!”

She says the damage was not as bad as other victims, but Monday, she went to the FEMA Disaster Recovery Center and found out she could get help.

“They were very good, now we're going to be able to get our air conditioning fixed. They done real well,” Stacy said.

FEMA representatives say they have seen more than four thousand flood victims at disaster recovery centers in Pike, Floyd, Magoffin, Breathitt, and Owsley Counties and handed out more than ten million dollars, but say now the number of people going to the centers is going down

FEMA officials say they are closing some centers after Saturday. The one in Magoffin County is closing for good. The Small Business Administration will turn the centers in Floyd, Owsley, and Belfry in Pike County into Disaster Loan Outreach Centers.

“The SBA is committed to helping citizens here in Kentucky with their disaster needs, as long as the needs last.” Jack Camp said.

FEMA centers in Johns Creek and Breathitt County are staying open for last minute people.

Both FEMA and SBA representatives say they will stay in Eastern Kentucky until everyone is helped.

All of the FEMA centers are open on regular schedule this week.

The SBA loan centers will open on Monday.

FEMA officials say they will still have a representative at the loan centers and the phone line and internet applications will still be open next week.

FEMA disaster recovery centers to close soon WYMT Some thoughts on disaster preparedness/recovery and big insurance: Are You Disaster Ready? What do you expect in case of loss? Who cares? Who has disaster preparedness/recovery money for that? I don't have all the answers, but I do have this one: A letter pertaining to disaster (hurricane, earthquake, tornado, flood, fire, etc.) has been sent to President Obama on behalf of all insurance policyholders. As a matter of transparency on the record of insurance consumer protection, any response by President Obama will be posted on the following Website for review: http://www.disasterprepared.net/president.html Qui potest et debet vetare, jubet: (Law Maxim) HE WHO CAN AND OUGHT TO FORBID A THING [IF HE DO NOT FORBID IT] DIRECTS IT

FEMA might as well to leave Eastern KY because they sure have not done anything. They are a joke. My mother is still out of her house and FEMA only gave her 800.00 and told her since she didn;t have flood insurance they can;t help her, if she had flood insurance she would not need FEMA. This really makes me so mad because FEMA is suppose to help people that has went through something like this flood but they don;t, FEMA is a joke. Ask FEMA what county got most of the money "Pike". IT was told that Pike got most of the money and therefore that left the rest of the flooded counties with no help. What good is Federal Funded program if it don;t work well FEMA don;t work. They might as well leave instead of taking up space. All you news stations need to report on what didn;t get done and talk to those people that didn;t get help from FEMA there is your story
