Michael Jackson's death is creating a buzz around the world, including right here in eastern kentucky. Candi Fannin, of Hazard, just barely missed seeing him in concert. Whether it was the glove, the thriller, or the moonwalk, Michael Jackson ruled.

Fannin says it's "his dancing, and just his character, and his performances. I feel like he was just one of the best dancers ever. He just brought a lot to the stage."

Sam "Killer" Neace, a DJ at WKCB in Hindman, says, "Generation after generation, he was a part of their music." With the news of his death, fans are taken back. "At this point, it's surreal, you know. I just don't know what to think. I can't believe that it's happened," Fannin says.

From his days in the Jackson 5 to topping charts in the 80s, Michael Jackson entertained the world. Some DJs at WKCB hope to keep that thrill alive. Neace says, "You start to realize, when an artist passes away, you know, what kind of impact really that they did have."

"Killer" Neace is going to play a straight hour of Michael's music Saturday night after his radio show even though he usually sticks to rock. He says, laughing, "being the king of pop, his music would fit just bout any station. you know."

Candi Fannin is leaving for London England next week. "I actually have Michael Jackson tickets...the very next concert before he passed away," she says. Fannin is taking the vacation anyway, but some of her plans have changed. She says even though she will never see him again, she hopes Michael will be remembered as the performer. "Not the transformations, but what he did in the eighties; what he brought to pop music, and the dance, and the thriller, and the glove! And you know, just his style," Fannin says.
