Two southern Kentucky police officers are nearly killed by a booby trap.

A Somerset police officer and a Wayne County Sheriff's Deputy were serving a warrant at a home north of Monticello.

When one of the officers tried to remove a firearm from a gun cabinet, a shotgun blast went off, barely missing them.

We're told the first gun had a string attached to the trigger of the shotgun which was fully cocked.

Both officers were taken to the hospital to have their hearing checked.

Police seized more than $34,000 and six pounds of marijuana hidden inside a farm silo at the home.

John E. Preston, 66, was arrested.

Let me pump a few rounds off behind your head and let me know how you feel. Maybe you are growing something you shouldn't be growing too.
