The operators of an eastern Kentucky medical clinic say they need more doctors.

The Lighthouse Medical Clinic near Pineville offers free medical and dental care to people who have no insurance, year-round. But Lighthouse Mission officials say they need more doctors to handle all the patients, which right now have to wait four to five months to be seen.

"It's hurtful to have to turn someone away you see is really sick that can't come, because we don't have doctors here on site," says Lighthouse Mission Director Sharon Teaney.

Clinic operators say retired doctors interested in volunteering would have free malpractice insurance through the federal government.

Doctors interested in volunteering, or patients in need of medical care can reach the clinic at (606) 337-1834.

You sound like the Ignorant one in your family. It takes years of practice and a head for knowledge to become a Dr. there is more to it than taking someones B/p. And I would like to know how could some young kid fill a tooth without the knowledge to know how to numb and drill out the cavity? You need to think before you make a comment like you made. I hope the Doctor's in your family are smarter than you. Well on reflection of your comment they would have to be.

This is a plain truth of where the doctors hearts is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$give me that moeny money honey they dont care about pain and suffering I say take doctors pay down a few $100,000 a year and they would find more time for more sick people we have put them in ivory towers to many years, cut there pay dramatically all doctors want is money unless its one of there family members or some person they think is sexy looking they they will put a little extra care in there job they make me sick no one needs to suffer from a tooth ach that is a [edited] shame some dentist want and walk around with high blood preshure and bad blood sugar, Kentucky is lazy and doctors only care for money that is I know I have delt with them and herd them talk about there paitents they make fun of medical cards and poor people its true I have herd them do it , some day the bone yard will call there name and they will feel what others feel and wish they had been a bit more kind to the sick.
