An eastern Kentucky teen is recovering after falling from a cliff in the Red River Gorge.

Rescue crews spent hours trying to get to 19 year old Thomas Drake of Campton, after he fell 300 feet from a cliff in the Umber Fork area of Wolfe County.

Drake's uncle tell us he will have to undergo several surgeries for injuries to his face.

Drake is recovering at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington.

My Mother-in law lived on a farm in Mineffe County on the back side of the gourge and when she was married to a gentleman from there. He told us about so many horses fallen over the cliffs and you could just be walking and step off onto nothing really scary. hope he has a quick recovery.
