If you still haven't made plans for the holiday weekend...there are plenty of things to do around eastern Kentucky.
Buckhorn Lake State Park in Perry County will kick off their independence day celebration with a bang.
Activities continue all weekend.
"It's a great place to bring a family you know that it's good clean fun. They see friends they have not seen in the area in awhile and it's almost a reunion in itself," said Greta Reynolds with Buckhorn Lake State Park.
Fireworks will be saturday at dark.
"There is nothing like seeing fireworks on a boat over the lake. That's where the fireworks will shoot off behind me so come out get a boat and enjoy the fireworks," said Reynolds.
Also in Perry County, the annual Hazard Fish Fry will take place Friday around lunch time.
Mayor Bill Gorman says the event started about 30 years ago, and the crowd continues to grow.
"People get the chance to get together and talk and have a good time the great people of Hazard. We love that," said Gorman.
The city of Hazard will also host a talent variety show starting at 7 at the Forum.
The city's fireworks display is Friday night.
"We have one of the finest fire displays in the mountains. We really enjoy doing it. And seeing it because it brings a lot of young people and children something to do," said Gorman.
Also around eastern Kentucky, the city of Middlesboro is having a free cookout at the city pool on Saturday from noon to five.
Fireworks are at dark on 12th street.
The Jenny Wiley State Park has plenty of events such as boat rides, archery, and dancing.
Overall, it's should be an eventful fourth.
