Drug bust nets several arrests
(HARLAN, KY) On 09/15/2009 at 08:00 a.m., Troopers and Detectives from the Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan, KSP Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations and Cumberland P.D. conducted a round up of 42 drug dealers in the Post 10 district.

(HARLAN, KY) On 09/15/2009 at 08:00 a.m., Troopers and Detectives from the Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan, KSP Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations and Cumberland P.D. conducted a round up of 42 drug dealers in the Post 10 district.

This stemmed from an eight month joint investigation conducted by Detective Keith Saylor of KSP Post 10 and Detective Jim Whitaker of KSP Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations, using confidential informants to make the drug buys and then obtaining warrants for the drug dealers arrests.

The subjects arrested were:

Jason M. Blair, age 32 of Partridge, KY was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree.

Clarence W. Cox, age 20 of Baxter, KY was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree and Possession of Marijuana less than 8 oz.

Douglass D. Turner, age 49 of Totz, KY was charged with 6 counts of Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st degree.

Billy J. Hubbs, age 49 of Partridge, KY was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st degree and Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree.

Mary A. Hubbs, age 43 of Partridge, KY was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st degree.

Lonnie J. Smith, age 35 of Evarts, KY was charged with 2 counts of Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree.

Yolanda Wilder, age 32 of Partridge, KY was charged with 2 counts of Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree.

Sherry L. Fields, age 50 of Gordon, KY was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st degree and Complicity to Traffic Controlled Substance 1st degree.

Rufus Fields, age 52 of Gordon, KY was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree.

Charles Lewis, age 63 of Cumberland, KY was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st degree.

Jeffery A. Thompson, age 43 of Partridge, KY was charged with 3 counts of Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree.

Elizabeth A. Brown, age 39 of Cumberland, KY was charged with 2 counts of Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree.

Joshua S. Seals, age 28 of Cumberland, KY was charged with 2 counts of Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree.

Dennis B. Wells, age 35 of Cumberland, KY was charged with 2 counts of Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree.

Joshua P. Gross, age 24 of Cumberland, KY was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st degree.

Lisa D. Lewis, age 41 of Cumberland, KY was charged with 2 counts of Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree.

Johnny D. Lewis, age 51 of Putney, KY was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree.

Brandon R. Trammell, age 22 of Baxter, KY was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st degree, 2 counts of Persistent Felony Offender 2nd degree, Possession/ Manufacture Distribute Counterfeit Substance 1st offense.

Randall G. Fee, age 45 of Harlan, KY was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st degree, Trafficking Controlled Substance with in 1000 yards of a school.

John D. Sergent, age 20 of Blair, KY was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree, Possession/ Manufacture Distribute Counterfeit Substance 1st offense.

Shawn W. Whited, age 24 of Benham, KY was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree.

Annie Hatfield, age 24 of Cumberland, KY was apprehended for shoplifting during the drug round-up.

Christy N. Sargent, age 28 of Baxter, KY was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree.

Jonathan R. Fee, age 27 of Mary Alice, KY was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st degree, Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree.

James S. Ferguson, age 21 of Cumberland, KY was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree and Theft By Unlawful Taking over $300.

Other arrests are pending at this time for subjects that were not located during the round up. To anonymously report any type of suspected illegal drug activity, citizens can call the KSP toll-free drug tip hotline, 1-800-DOPETIP. The hotline is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

These arrest were made possible by the Kentucky State Police not Unite... Please give credit where credit is due... Unite does a Good job, But this is all KSP.... Good Work Guys...

Glad to hear that a few more are off the streets for awhile anyway..way to go to UNITE and the police..now if only the punishment was more severe..I think that if the government would automatically cut off these peoples welfare/disability checks and turn them out of public housing on the first conviction maybe they would not take such chances...but as for the efforts of the officers .. keep up the hard work and stay safe..

I implore the judges to give these people a sentence that will "really" teach them a lesson. the bonding out is too easy. the sentencing too light. I think that we can all attest to the fact that they are right back at it. And they are not employable or productive in our cities. Ask a owner of a business how difficult is it to find workers not messed up with drugs
