More than a dozen suspected drug dealers are behind bars after a sweep through Lawrence County, Kentucky earlier this week by the Operation UNITE Drug Task Force.
17 people were indicted on drug-related charges by a grand jury earlier this month.
The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office says most of those caught were trafficking in OxyContin pills.
The investigation has been going on since February.
As of Thursday morning, 12 people had been charged. They are all at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Johnson County.

Please don't take this wrong when I say this. but Smokey does have some what of a point. keep taking the jobs away 4 all these tree huggers that doesn't no crap about what goes on w/ mountain top mining & things r going 2get a whole lot worse. the business I am in kind of revolves around the coal mines &these tree hugging know it alls thinks that they r doing what is best. what they don't realize is that they r only making things worse 4 other people. b4 all this started I was able 2 pay my bills on time & have a little bit of money left over now I am behind on my bills & robbing Peter 2 pay Paul on a daily basics. have you ever considered that they might have kids 2 feed & bills 2 pay & maybe that is why they have choosen to do this.. probably not.. I am a single mother & I no that it is wrong but there is NOTHING that I will not do 2 make sure that my child has food 2 eat & clothes 2 wear. if that makes me a bad mother well get over it. u r not god 2 judge what they do remember that

To Smokey, What does the coal industry have to do with the drug bust? Glad to see they are putting these dealers behind bars....

Let's see some names, a little embarrassement shouldn't bother these people. Probably would consider it good advertisment for their growing business.
