A show, set up to raise money for cancer, is also raising eyebrows.
It's happening in nearby Mingo County, West Virginia.
As Dave Benton shows us, some churches are planning a spiritual protest, trying to stop a group of drag queens for strutting their stuff, even though it's for a good cause.
If the road ever takes you to Kermit, West Virginia on a Wednesday night, the sound you'll hear singing coming out of the Jesus Name Tabernacle Church.
Saturday night a female impersonator will be dragging for a cure.
Lark Muncy and his friends plan to hold a drag show for cancer research.
It's a first for the town of Kermit.
Lark Muncy says that he has received threats, “I've had threats, people said they would beat me. Why do it? Because I believe in the cause”
Muncy says he and three friends were asked to perform. His mother supports his decision to entertain in his hometown.
His mother fears for his safety.
Members of this church and five others around town have planned a spiritual protest at the community center the night before the drag show.
Muncy believes it will open minds.
Muncy and his family say they hope Saturday night is peaceful, while they raise money for a cure.
Pastor Parseley says his church members have not issued any threats to Lark or his friends.
The show is going on Saturday night at eight at the Kermit Community Center.
All proceeds go towards cancer research.

Let he who is free from sin cast the first stone! Isn't that what the Bible says??? You know nobody id perfect, we are far from it and that is the WHOLE reason that Jesus died on the cross. TO PAY FOR OUR SINS!!! But I have to say as a CANCER SURVIVOR I applaude these people for what they are doing. Millions of people are diagnosed daily with cancer! It is up to us as a community to raise awarness and funds for research! It does not matter who you are, what you are, or where you are, everyone needs to realize that this is done out of their awareness the there needs to be a cure for cancer. I hope that they got to perform and raised plenty of money for a cure.
We've had drag shows in Huntington for years and they're a hoot! I would have loved to have gone to the one in Kermit. It's just a bunch of boys in girls clothes. How is that any different from Halloween? Good for them for doing something to aid in cancer research and kudos for being brave enough to do it in Kermit. That takes balls boys...even if you're wearing a dress!
I have god in my life and i have gays in my life. Shame on the church. If they dont agree then let them have there opinion. Staging a protest could get someone killed . Not to mention its just so much negative when these men are willing to be in such a vulnerable spotlight ONLY to help other people . I believe god would be happy with what help the women impersonates are providing for cancer!
