Imagine walking up to your house only to find you've been locked out!

It was a reality for one man in Floyd County.

Chris Hamby is suing Bank of America for mistakenly repossessing his home.

In his lawsuit, Hamby says bank agents changed the locks on his home and damaged his property nearly one month ago.

He's still locked out by the way.

Hamby, who is not a Bank of America customer says it has been a nightmare trying to get the problem fixed.

“It was kind of confusing. My world was turned upside down and then it turned to anger,” Hamby said.

Hamby says it was apparently one of his neighbor's homes that was supposed to be repossessed.

He's now asking for compensatory damages from Bank of America.

There was a case just like this in fla. a few months ago where the finance co. attempted to forclose stating that the owner was behind on payments The man hired a lawyer & had cancelled checks to back up his claim that he was current on his payments. Last I heard the finance co. was pushing to simply allow the homeowner out of the rest of his loan amount & give the deed free & clear just to keep this quiet. This kind of thing happens more often than people realize..ALWAYS keep your receipts &/or cancelled checks to verify that you've made your payments.
